BMAS Electroacupuncture Course – theory and practice

BMAS Points Practical Courses
These courses follow a rolling programme of 4 days, focusing on practical needling of particular regions of the body. A selection of the 4 days will be covered over 1 year. The 4 days cover the core skills training for the Diploma of Medical Acupuncture (DipMedAc). Other self-directed study is required to cover the knowledge and research base for the DipMedAc.
BMAS Back Pain Course
NICE guidelines for the treatment of low back pain include a course of acupuncture. In response to the guidelines the BMAS is offering a course for acupuncturists focusing on the assessment, treatment and management of back pain. A 1-day course consisting of lectures, demonstrations and practical sessions. Led by Mike Cummings and Jens Foell.
BMAS Acupuncture and Women's Health
A specialist day focusing on acupuncture and fertility/gynaecology. Topics include: anovulation and polycystic ovary syndrome; vasomotor symptoms; pelvic pain during pregnancy; acupuncture and assisted reproduction therapy. Presented by Lisa Stener-Victorin.
BMAS Palliative Care Day
A new course covering key areas in palliative care including pain, nausea/vomiting, breathlessness and dry mouth, with lectures and small group work sessions. Led by Graham Leng and Mike Cummings.
Gerwin Masterclasses, led by Dr Robert Gerwin
Workshops run by Dr Robert Gerwin, a Board-Certified neurologist from Washington State, USA. Bob trained in the diagnosis and management of myofascial pain syndromes under the renowned Janet Travell, and now runs a multidisciplinary pain clinic specialising in this field. The workshops involve lectures, demonstrations and practical experience.
